I saw the post about an hour after it went up. I didn't scrutinize it as it was expected. I didn't expect a smoking gun to show up on X so figured it
was just another rumor. What I also didn't expect was the immediate stream of denials by people claiming to point out evidence that it was fake. The
stream continued almost as if a platoon or two of trolls had been unleashed.
Before long the person named in the post had been located and denied being the person in the post. Now we only have the word of the news media but it
seems to be reasonably accurate. The question is who did it and why? The next narrative by the state-run media was 'Russian disinformation' and
'traces of deepfakery'. Okey-dokey, somebody faked it but did the Russians do it?
Hardly. The Russians want Giggles/Awolz elected so they didn't do it to help Trump but...
if it is exposed as fake and Trump is blamed it helps Cackles.
So the Russians might have done a deliberately bad fake so they would be blamed for doing it to help Trump - that would hurt Trump.
The one certain thing is that it wasn't done to help Trump. It's probable given the low quality that it wasn't the Russians.
Does the regime have any bozos smart enough to think through even that much of it?
Doubtful but they would go ahead and do it just to have something to attack Trump with. It doesn't hurt him because the
RusiaRussiaRussia thing wore out long ag. Still there are rumors of the pee tape being revived. They're completely
out of ideas.
So just a guess but probably someone inside the regime is responsible. The immediate deluge of denials suggests it anyway.
And if Giggles/Walz lose he'll be vulnerable to prosecution for the many misdeeds that have been exposed. The probability
of a Jerry Sandusky past is quite high - not to the same extent in number of victims but there's enough. So if he does
end up being prosecuted they'll use this as an example of false accusations that have been 'disproven'.
